Riverside Castle has hosted weddings, receptions and events in Pretoria East since 2007. The estate features castle-style architecture, seven function venues and landscaped gardens. Your ceremony, reception, and guest accommodation all take place on one property, with a dedicated coordinator from booking to wrap-up.

My wedding was on 18 September 2025.

The staff at Riverside Castle absolutely outdid themselves. They did so much more than we paid them to do. As the bride, the wedding coordinator was very emotionally supportive and comforting in the nervous moments leading up to the wedding. She was very helpful, and she and her staff packed the cutlery so gorgeously that it looked a bit empty at first after we decorated it ourselves, but once the staff added their touch, it was exactly what we dreamed of. 


They allowed us to stay the night before in the honeymoon suite so we could decorate our reception area. They absolutely went above and beyond, even putting on the fairy lights outside for us out of their own accord to make the reception more beautiful (usually that costs extra). At the last minute, we added daisies to our main table in the reception, and the staff not only placed them there but trimmed and arranged the bouquet beautifully (once again out of their own). I was absolutely blown away by the amazing service we received. 


I highly recommend using Riverside Castle as your wedding venue. It was a true princess experience; I never thought I would get married in a real-life castle. It is every bit as beautiful as it sounds. I wish I could give 10 stars. I had my dream wedding, in fact, it was even better than I ever dreamed of.

Our wedding was an absolute blast, thanks to the incredible work of our wedding guru, Nicolette.

Seriously, Nicolette, you're a rock star! You didn't just help us plan; you introduced us to things we didn't even know existed, like that awesome "harvesting table" idea.


You went above and beyond by adding coffee mugs and other goodies to the coffee table. You saw the plastic cups we bought wouldn't cut it with the weather, and you saved the day. And the fact that you let my hubby and me get ready in a proper room, not some restroom, was pure class. Your constant communication made wedding planning a breeze. We can't thank you enough!


Huge shoutout to our décor wizards, Selenta and Marlese. The flowers on the tables were stunning, especially those pink lilies and roses – they were my dream come true. Our whole setup looked straight out of a fairy tale. Everyone was raving about it. 


Thanks for making our wedding look like something out of a fairy godmother's workshop!


And kudos to Riverside Castle for keeping all our guests safe and sound while ensuring everything ran smoothly. We're totally recommending this place to everyone!

I have waited a long. long time for my wedding, so when it finally happened at 50 - it had damn well better be perfect....and it was!!

From the moment of the site visit we were hooked. We had a very capable wedding coordinator in Erika, and she was super friendly and helpful as well. 


Our wedding decor was done by Bernadine from Cloud 9 Decor and man did she pull out all the stops. The food was great; the bar was well stocked and the barmen friendly and courteous. As this was a winter wedding, we off course had to stock some roaring fires in the fireplace and outside in the boma-area. The rooms were great and breakfast, again, a tasty smorgasbord of flavors. I have to make special mention of the DJ, Rowan. Now THIS man is a PROPER DJ!! Decks were mixed and he kept us on our feet with his great vibes. Simply an awesome guy.


If you are thinking about using this venue as an option for your special day = you cannot go wrong. Just thinking about my perfect day, wants me to do it all over again and that I think, is a rare thing.

  • Are your prices inclusive of VAT?

    Prices are quoted exclusive of VAT. VAT is added to the final quotation and clearly reflected in all official documentation.

  • How long can you hold a date after a site visit?

    Following a site visit, we are happy to provisionally hold your preferred event date for 72 hours as a courtesy. 


    Please note that dates are only confirmed upon receipt of the signed agreement and the required deposit.


    Should another enquiry be received for the same date during this period, you will be contacted and given the opportunity to secure the booking first.


    After the holding period expires, the date will automatically reopen for new bookings unless otherwise arranged with management.

  • What is your cancellation and refund policy?

    All cancellations must be submitted in writing. Booking fees and deposits are generally non-refundable. 


    Refunds (if applicable) are conditional on the cancellation timeframe and whether the date can be rebooked. 


    Supplier payments made on your behalf are non-refundable and will be deducted from any refund. 


    Full details of cancellation terms apply as per our booking agreement (CPA-compliant).

  • Do you offer venue-only / dry hire options?

    We do not offer full dry hire (venue-only bookings). 


    However, we do offer self-catering options at selected venues, subject to specific conditions, approved supplier requirements, and applicable surcharges.

  • Are animals allowed on the premises?

    Yes, animals are permitted under strict conditions. 


    Animals may not sleep on the premises, must remain on a leash at all times, and owners are responsible for feeding, supervision, and cleaning up after them. Please note that we do have wild monkeys on the property, which can make managing pets more challenging.

  • Is outside alcohol allowed?

    No. 


    Riverside Castle is a licensed premises; therefore, no outside alcohol is permitted.

  • Can we check in early or access the venue before the event?

    Standard check-in time is 1:00 PM. Early access is provisional, available only upon request, and subject to no function being scheduled before your event.

  • What is included in the venue hire/package?

    Venue hire typically includes use of the selected venue space, standard tables and seating, setup access, and facilities, as specified by the selected package. 


    Full inclusions are detailed on your official quotation.

  • What is the booking confirmation process?

    A booking is only confirmed once the required deposit payment (as reflected on your quotation), proof of payment (PDF PoP), and signed quotation with completed banking details have been received.

  • Do you cater for different guest sizes and venue layouts?

    Yes, we accommodate events ranging from intimate functions of approximately 20 guests up to larger events of 400 guests, depending on the selected venue space and layout requirements.

  • Can we pay off the venue in instalments?

    Yes, payment plans are permitted under our terms and conditions. 


    A minimum of 50% of the booking value must be paid two months prior to the event, and the remaining balance must be settled 30 days before the function date. 


    Monthly instalments are welcome within this structure.

  • Is cash accepted on the premises?

    No cash payments are accepted on the premises. 


    Card payment facilities are available, and we kindly ask hosts to inform their guests in advance.

  • Do you offer planning meetings for booked clients?

    Yes. 


    Once your booking is confirmed, planning meetings will be arranged with your coordinator. 


    Due to fully booked weekends and active functions, weekend site visits are generally limited to shorter meetings while our team attends to current event hosts. For this reason, detailed planning meetings are scheduled during weekdays to ensure dedicated time and attention is given to each client.

  • Can we bring our own suppliers, or do you have approved vendors?
